Wuren Wang, Vice Chairman and General Manager of CITIC Heye Investment Co., Ltd., is the recipient of the 2020 CTBUH Fazlur R. Khan Lifetime Achievement Medal. In his current position, he is responsible for the development, construction, and operation of CITIC Tower, the tallest building in Beijing. Wuren Wang is an engineering expert granted the Special Government Allowance by the State Council of China, a National Construction Expert with First Class registration, a professorial Senior Engineer; and a professor at Tsinghua University in Beijing and other universities in China. He is also a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Building in the United Kingdom. Wang formerly served as the Chief Engineer and General Manager of China State Construction Engineering Corporation (CSCEC) and led the overseas, capital management, science and technology, general contracting, marketing, and project management departments. As a leader of one of the first Chinese general contractors that has ventured overseas, Wang directed the Kufa Dam and the new Sindhya Dam projects in Iraq. In the domestic market, he managed general contracting of the Qingdao Anpu Connector Factory through US investments, and the Shanghai World Financial Center (SWFC) via a Japanese developer. Wang has achieved proficiency in the field of construction management through playing a significant role in various mega-projects, domestic and international investments, high-end commercial real estate, and supertall building development, and has worked closely on many prominent projects throughout China.
